Who am I?

This is a deep philosophical question and it is being answered in simple language.

I had a simple Nokia phone to make calls, sometimes I used its calculator, the inbuilt radio to listen to songs and sometimes sent SMS.

My son brought a high tech I-6, a very expensive phone.

"Dad your phone is obsolete. I am giving you this device that is far superior to the phone that you have. While travelling, you could enter the name of your destination and it will give you directions, you can use its Facetime to make video calls, you can see movies and listen to songs, you can be connected to your friends all over the world through WhatsApp and there are innumerable other functions that it can perform."

"Wow, thanks son" I said

He then went away. Sometimes later, I tried to connect with my friends but I could not, I wanted to find a location in the town but I could not. In short the phone was unable to perform the promised operations. When he came back I told him that I was disappointed, the telephone performed none of the operations.

"Dad, did you down load google maps, WhatsApp, downloaded the health software and made SIRI operational,?" He asked

"No, but why?"

"Dad, this phone is a processing device and you need to load the software related to its functions. Let me help you" he offered

He downloaded the software and soon the phone was fully operational.

"Without the software, this expensive and technically advanced device is just a piece of junk?" He said.

It is amazing that it is such a simple thing but we don't know that we are also driven by a software without which we are like this telephone, a piece of meat.

Just like the phone our body has two parts. The body is hardware and the soul is the software.

We have hundreds of problems like discontent and distress, sorrow and suffering, sickness and disease, anxieties and fears. For solutions we tinker the body, not activate the "Apply" button of the soul, which is intelligence and information with infinite potentialities and possibilities.

There is a manual for every equipment and we tend to treat our body like a machine, which is the biggest folly.

Then the question is "If we are not a machine then who are we?"

I am body, mind and soul. The body is pulsating energy particles that are changing ceaselessly but soul is eternal. I am continuum of consciousness.
